Dr. Douglas Robins, a native of Washington, D.C. graduated from Washington and Lee University and George Washington University Medical School.  His dermatology training was done at New York University – Bellevue Medical Center.  He entered private practice in Washington, D.C. where he served as Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at George Washington University Medical School.  In addition, he served as President of the Washington D.C. Dermatology Society and represented the Medical Society of the District of Columbia as an alternate delegate to the American Medical Association.

In February, 2000 Dr Robins moved to Jacksonville, Florida and joined a group practice with offices in Duval and St. John’s County.  In August, 2009 he joined Advanced Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery.  While practicing in Jacksonville he served as President of the Jacksonville Dermatology and as Membership Chairman and Vice President of the Florida Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery.  He has also served as principal investigator and co-investigator in more than 50 clinical dermatology trials, many of which involved the newer systemic agents used to treat psoriasis.

Dr. Robins’ primary interests in practice include the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer, as well as all aspects of medical dermatology.  Through his extensive experience he has a particular expertise in the treatment of psoriasis.

Dr. Robins’ memberships include the American Medical Association, Florida Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery, and the Noah Worchester Dermatological Society.  He is Chairman of the Dermatology Department at Baptist Medical Center Downtown.  In addition, he is a member of the Dermatology Foundation’s Annenberg Circle and is on the Presidential Council of the National Psoriasis Foundation.  Since 2001, he has been listed on the Best Doctors in America database.  He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a Diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology.
