Dr. James Bernard earned his Medical Degree from the University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City. After his Internship at Phoenix General Hospital, he completed his Dermatology Residency through the Osteopathic Preceptorship in Royal Oak, Michigan. Dr. Bernard is a Diplomate of the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology. He is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, American Academy of Dermatology and Southern Medical Association. Recently, he has served as Preceptor for the Georgia Osteopathic Institute and Osteopathic Institute of the South.
Prior to joining Advanced Dermatology & Cosmetic Surgery, Dr. Bernard practiced dermatology in Georgia for more than 30 years.
Dr Bernard has been involved in multiple clinical trials through Ameriderm Research. He has served as both principle as well as subinvestigator on studies involving such areas as psoriasis, acne, tinea, rosacea, atopic dermatitis, and actinic keratoses.
