Dr. Baker grew up in rural Ohio. He graduated with honors from Ohio Wesleyan University and received his Doctorate from the Medical College of Ohio as an Air Force Scholar.
He received post-graduate training in Aerospace Medicine and Dermatology and became Board Certified in Dermatology. Major Baker served as the flight surgeon for the famous Flying Tigers Fighter Squadron and on the Dermatology teaching faculty for Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center and Brooke Army Medical Center.
While an academic dermatologist, Dr. Baker authored several publications and national presentations and was appointed Clinical Assistant Professor by the University of Texas Health Science Center.
In 1990, Dr. Baker entered into private practice and established SkinTrust Dermatology in Greenville, South Carolina. A skilled diagnostician and innovative therapist, Dr. Baker has a special interest in affordable care, dermoscopy, skin cancer, and acne.
Cutting-edge technologies tempered by clinical experience have earned him the esteem of patients and peers alike. The American Cancer Society honored him for his work with Skin Cancer Screenings and he has been recognized as one of Greenville’s Best Doctors by Greenville Magazine.
Dr. Baker enjoys being active in the community as a Rotary Club member of 25 years and lifelong Eagle Scouter. He especially enjoys fitness and outdoor activities with his family. Golf, birding, and wilderness medicine are some of his favorite pursuits.
