Dr. Gerald Karabin received his medical degree, Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry, and his internal medicine training from the University of Colorado. He completed his residency from the University of Michigan Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery and is Board Certified.
Dr. Karabin has authored several articles regarding molecular genetics, biochemistry, and various skin diseases including skin cancer, psoriasis, and lupus erythematosus. He received a Predoctoral NIH Research Training Grant, ARCS Research Award, and the Robert W. Goltz Award for Excellence in Dermatology.
He has been practicing as a board certified dermatologist and dermatologic surgeon at Kalamazoo Dermatology since 1991. He is also an Attending Physician and Clinical Professor of Medicine at Michigan State University. He has staff appointments at both Bronson and Borgess Hospitals.
Dr. Karabin specializes in skin cancer treatment, including Mohs micrographic surgery, and also performs general and cosmetic dermatology.
