Dr. Karl Vance is board certified by the American Academy of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery. He was born and raised in Minnesota but fell in love with Colorado on his first ski trip to the mountains as a child. Many trips back to Colorado as a junior ski racer cemented this affection, and he returned to Colorado to become a 4th generation graduate of the University of Colorado School of medicine. His undergraduate degree is in chemical engineering from Stanford University, which led him to a brief stint in the wine industry before pursuing his medical degree.
Dr. Vance completed his rotating internship at the University of Hawaii, dermatology residency at the University of Illinois, Chicago, and his Fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and procedural dermatology at the University of Minnesota. His areas of dermatology focus are skin cancer, Mohs surgery and general and cosmetic dermatology.
He is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the American College of Mohs Surgery and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.
In his free time, he enjoys traveling, skiing, biking and hiking.
