Dr. Leavitt Nominated to Join International SciBase Board

We're excited to announce that SciBase (SciBase Holding AB), a leading developer of augmented intelligence-based solutions for skin disorders, announced the nomination of Dr. Matt Leavitt, Executive Chairman and Founder of Advanced Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery, to its Board of Directors.
Dr. Leavitt is recognized both nationally and internationally as an accomplished physician, surgeon, educator, clinical researcher, lecturer, author and humanitarian.
SciBase stated that with his clinical background and unique experience in building the US's largest Dermatology practice, Dr. Leavitt's knowledge and experience will be a great benefit to SciBase.
Founded in 1998, SciBase is a Swedish medical technology company, headquartered in Stockholm, that has developed Nevisense, a unique device for the accurate detection of malignant melanoma. Both the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology (JAAD) and The Journal of Cutaneous Medicine (SKIN), have published studies assessing the clinical impact of Nevisense.
Key takeaways were that in the 25,000 evaluations in which Nevisense was added to visual examinations:
- The number of `missed melanomas' fell from ~7% to < 1%
- Overall ability to correctly identify melanoma) increased on average across the groups by 14%
- In total, clinicians identified 1,343 more melanomas with Nevisense compared to visual evaluation alone.
Melanoma is the deadliest form of skin cancer, but when detected early, treatment has a nearly 99% cure rate. That number drops to about 15% in late stages, making early detection critical to survival.
