Credentials
Dr. Jay Nguyen is a PGY-4 dermatology resident at the Kansas City University-GME Consortium/Advanced Dermatology & Cosmetic Surgery–Orlando Program, where he currently serves as chief resident. Originally from Chattanooga, TN, he earned his medical degree from Lincoln Memorial University–DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. Nguyen is passionate about caring for patients of all ages and works collaboratively to address a wide range of dermatologic concerns. He takes pride in creating a welcoming and comfortable environment, educating patients about their diagnoses, and delivering high-quality, patient-centered care that integrates both lifestyle interventions and pharmaceutical treatments.
In addition to clinical care, Dr. Nguyen enjoys teaching medical students and residents. He serves on the Derm In-Review Advisory Council, contributing to educational content for dermatology residents preparing for licensure exams. He is also a member of the National Faculty for the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners, where he helps write and review content for the COMLEX-USA medical licensure examinations.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Nguyen stays active through CrossFit, traveling, trekking, and hosting visiting healthcare students and professionals. He also volunteers in his community and regularly provides medical care to underserved patients at Shepherd’s Hope.
Dr. Nguyen is expected to complete his residency in June 2026 and plans to pursue a career in academic medicine, with the long-term goal of opening or joining a private practice.
