Credentials

Michelle has over 24 years of experience in the field of medicine. She began her career in healthcare in 1995 with the United States Air Force as an Emergency Medical Technician and Dispatcher. Upon returning to the civilian sector, Michelle had the pleasure of working as a dermatology medical and surgical assistant, working with both doctors and PAs. In 2000, she began pursuing her bachelor’s degree in anthropology at the University of Florida College of Liberal Arts, with a concentration in forensics, while working fulltime and braving the trials and tribulations of single parenting her young daughter Chloe. Her original goal was that of becoming a medical examiner, but it was her experience with PAs in dermatology that made it an easy decision to change course and pursue her PA degree at the University of Florida College of Medicine. She graduated with her Master of Physician Assistant Studies in June of 2006 with Honors. Michelle then went on to advance further with additional training in dermatology, earning her diplomate status with the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.

Michelle opened the Advanced Dermatology Wesley Chapel office location in February of 2008 and has enjoyed providing general dermatology services for the community ever since. Michelle has taken delight in watching her pediatric patients grow into adults, as well as providing dermatology services for entire families. In addition, she has found it extremely rewarding to provide care to her aging adult patient population. She specializes in general dermatology, including all skin, hair, and nail disorders, all aspects of skin cancer prevention, as well as treatment for these disorders in children and adults. Michelle, along with her patient care team, spends considerable time with every patient to ensure they understand the disease process and how to appropriately take care of themselves.

Michelle is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is licensed through the State of Florida Board of Medicine. She also holds active licenses in California and North Carolina. She is a fellow member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants, the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, and the Florida Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.

In her leisure time, Michelle enjoys road-trips with friends, her now adult daughter, and significant other. Her favorite vacation destination is the Blue Ridge Mountains in Asheville, North Carolina, enamored of it’s quirky, eclectic, vibrant, artsy-charm and historic architecture. She enjoys coming home, after a long day’s work, to her three anxiously waiting, rambunctious, four-legged family members who keep her on her toes. She has a passion for painting and creating, loves furniture rehab and home design, as well as real estate. Michelle is so fascinated by real estate she even became a licensed Florida Realtor in 2015, leaving no shortage of things to keep her busy.
