Psoriasis & Vitiligo Treatment

FDA-cleared, clinically proven excimer lasers can provide significant skin improvements in certain patients who have psoriasis, vitiligo or atopic dermatitis.

Excimer lasers such as XTRAC® and Pharos® use a refined, super narrowband UVB light which targets the affected areas while limiting exposure to healthy skin.

If you, or someone you know, has psoriasis, including thick plaques that cause discomfort or functional impairment, plaques that are resistant to treatment, or plaques in hard-to-treat areas such as the scalp, hands and feet, you may get effective relief from painful symptoms in just a few short treatments. Remissions may last for months.

Excimer laser treatments for psoriasis:

  • Are a safe, effective and pain-free therapy
  • Target the affected tissue
  • Take only minutes
  • Can result in significant improvement in as few as 6-10 treatments
  • May provide extended remission (some patients experience clearer skin for over a year)
  • Are covered by most insurance companies including Medicare

It is important to discuss all your treatment options including topical treatments, systemics and biologics, as well as laser treatments. We will help you determine the best treatment plan for your specific situation.

If you, or someone you know, is among the estimated 1 to 2 million Americans with vitiligo, you may be able to enjoy a more even skin coloration with excimer laser treatments.

Vitiligo occurs when the skin’s pigment-producing cells die or stop producing melanin. While there’s no cure, vitiligo can now be treated effectively with excimer laser treatments, which use a specific, wavelength of light which is precisely targeted to stimulate the repigmentation of the skin, without impacting healthy skin. These laser treatments can minimize and, in many cases, even eliminate vitiligo depigmented patches.

Clinical studies with the XTRAC®  laser have shown that, in some patients, repigmentation can begin within six to 12 treatments, and can often be obtained in 30 treatments or less.

The number of treatments needed can vary from person to person based on a variety of factors.
