Credentials

Jay brings a unique blend of medical expertise, calm confidence, and genuine compassion to every patient he meets. He earned his undergraduate degree from Central Michigan University before beginning his career as a firefighter and paramedic—an experience that shaped his commitment to service and sharpened his ability to stay steady and attentive in high‑pressure situations. He later completed his master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Eastern Michigan University and is certified by the National Board of Physician Assistants.

After nearly a decade in emergency medicine, Jay transitioned into dermatology, completing a rigorous didactic and clinical training program with ADCS. His dedication to ongoing learning and clinical excellence is reflected in his membership with the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA) and his continued focus on evidence‑based care.

Jay is especially passionate about prevention and patient education. He believes that transparency, clear communication, and a collaborative approach empower patients to better understand their skin and feel confident in their treatment plans. Whether he’s performing a skin cancer screening, managing chronic conditions, or guiding patients through new diagnoses, Jay prioritizes compassion and long‑term skin health.

Outside the clinic, Jay enjoys sailing, mountain biking, and skiing with his girlfriend and their dog, activities that keep him grounded and fuel his appreciation for balance, wellness, and the outdoors
