Credentials
Joan Hensley is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with advanced training in medical and cosmetic dermatology. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing and is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB). To further her dermatology expertise, she completed a fellowship through Advanced Dermatology under the guidance of Dr. Gaar.
Before transitioning into dermatology, Joan spent more than 12 years as a registered nurse in a Denver trauma and emergency center, where she cared for both adult and pediatric patients. She also owned and operated a medical spa in Colorado for two years, providing treatments such as BOTOX®, dermal fillers, laser services, and microneedling.
She brings a wealth of diverse clinical experience to her patients and is passionate about providing comprehensive, personalized care that supports both skin health and overall confidence.
Outside of the clinic, Joan enjoys volunteering and spending time with her husband and two children. Together they love cheering on their son's football games and daughter's cheerleading events, as well as fishing, kayaking, and boating.
