Credentials
Sheila was born in Connecticut and raised in central Florida. While working as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Ocala Regional Medical Center, she attended the University of Florida’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences earning her Bachelor’s Degree, Cum Laude in Microbiology and Cellular Science in 2008. In 2011, she graduated from University of Florida’s College of Medicine as a Nationally Certified and State licensed Physician Assistant.
Sheila started her career practicing as an inpatient and outpatient cardiovascular Physician Assistant for 5 years in Ocala and The Villages. She joined the dermatology field June 2016, interested in branching out from cardiology and utilizing more of her diverse knowledge and procedural skills. Learning and practicing medicine has always been a passion of Sheila’s.
She is a member of Florida Academy of Dermatology Physician Assistants, Florida Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. She has studied and completed the SDPA’s Dermatology Fellowship program and is a Dermatology Diplomate Fellow. She enjoys a career that allows her to have time to spend with patients as individuals; not only to examine, diagnose and treat, but to educate and help patients understand their health.
Aside from her career, Sheila enjoys spending her free time with her husband and beautiful daughter!
