Sheila was born in Connecticut and raised in central Florida. While working as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Ocala Regional Medical Center, she attended the University of Florida’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences earning her Bachelor’s Degree, Cum Laude in Microbiology and Cellular Science in 2008. In 2011, she graduated from University of Florida’s College of Medicine as a board certified Physician Assistant. Sheila started her career practicing as an inpatient and outpatient cardiovascular Physician Assistant for 5 years in Ocala and The Villages. She joined the dermatology field in June 2016, interested in branching out from cardiology and utilizing more of her diverse knowledge and procedural skills. Learning and practicing medicine has always been a passion of Sheila’s. She is a member of Florida Academy of Physician Assistants, Florida Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. Currently, Sheila is studying in the SDPA’s Dermatology Fellowship Program to become a Dermatology Diplomate Fellow. She enjoys a career that allows her to have time to spend with patients as individuals; not only to examine, diagnose and treat, but to educate and help patients understand their health. Aside from her career, Sheila enjoys spending time with her family, pets, doing crafts and being outdoors!
