Low Level Laser Therapy

Low-level laser therapy (LLLT), also known as Red Light Laser Therapy or cold laser therapy is a safe, well tolerated non-surgical hair restoration therapy which is used to promote hair growth and slow down hair loss. The first LLLT hand-held device received FDA clearance for use by men in 2007 and by women in 2011. Currently, there are several devices with FDA clearance and they can be used in the privacy of your own home.

Red Light Lasers deliver LLLT to your hair follicles to increase the delivery of oxygen and nutrients and to activate them for stronger hair growth. This therapy requires ongoing treatments – several times per week -- to maintain results.

Red Light Laser Therapy:

  • Strengthens hair follicles
  • Thickens thinning hair
  • Stabilizes hair loss
  • Has the potential for hair growth
  • Is used for about 20 minutes, 2-3 times a week (or as recommended by your Advanced Dermatology provider)
  • Can be used in conjunction with other types of medications and therapy
  • Safe, non-invasive
