We have the privilege to service all of Northern Michigan, including the Upper Peninsula and regions of Canada. Our staff consists of Murray Cotter, MD PhD, Brian Gelb, MD, Tina Crook, PA-C, Mary Stoll, PA-C, Benjamin Gier, PA-C, Laura Bottomley-Brown, FNP, and Amanda Karsten, Aesthetician. We offer a variety of services from Mohs surgery to general dermatology and cosmetic services. Dr. Murray Cotter grew up in the Detroit area, spending summers in Emmet County. He trained at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where he received his BS, MD, and PhD degrees. He took his residency training in Dermatology at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. He completed a fellowship in Mohs surgery and cosmetic dermatology at the University of California at San Francisco. Dr. Cotter is board-certified in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology, is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the American College of Mohs Surgery. Dr. Cotter has written numerous scientific publications, textbook chapters, and holds a US patent. Dr. Brian Gelb is our staff physician. He practiced emergency medicine for 14 years in Petoskey before joining our clinic. Tina Crook, PA-C, has been a Physician Assistant in dermatology since 2006. She graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science then continued her education at Central Michigan University completing her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies in 2004. Mary Stoll, PA-C, has been working as a physician assistant in dermatology since 2008. She graduated with a Master of Science in medicine in 2008. Mary was awarded Western Michigan University’s Academic Award designating the highest academic achievement in her graduating class. Laura Bottomley-Brown, FNP, is fairly new to our practice. She joined our practice after finishing her ADCS Fellowship with Dr. Cotter. Laura graduated from the University of Michigan, Flint, and has been a great addition to the team! Laura also sees patients in our Cheboygan satellite every Wednesday. Benjamin Gier, PA-C, is also our newest addition to our practice. He finished the ADCS Fellowship and our hope is to open a clinic in the Upper Peninsula to service our thousands of patients that live above the bridge. Ben graduated from Central Michigan with his Masters in 2015.
